About this site

One person. No agenda.

Every Day Statistics is written by one person, in their evenings, for free, because watching ordinary people get talked into bad decisions by bad numbers is exhausting and mostly preventable.

I'm not a statistician by trade. I'm someone who got tired of reading headlines that were technically true and practically misleading, and who realised that the move being pulled was almost always the same handful of moves. So I started writing them down.

The site isn't a course. It's a kit. Read the 44 units in order — they take about ten weeks at fifteen minutes a day — and after that the reference library is here for whenever you need to remember the name of a thing.

What this site won't do

It won't tell you what to think about any specific issue. It will give you the tools to read the numbers attached to that issue, and form your own view, and notice when someone is hoping you won't.

The point isn't to make you suspicious of every number. It's to make you suspicious of the right ones.

How it's funded

It isn't. There are no ads, no affiliate links, no sponsors, no paid newsletter. The hosting is minimal and I pay it. If that ever changes I'll say so on this page, in plain language, before it happens.
